Fredy and Raquel have lived and served in the village of Quebo in the south of Guinea Bissau for the past 18 years. This region is one of the poorest and least reached areas of the country.
Since arriving in Guinea Bissau they have started three Christian schools in an area where there was previously little access to education. They currently have over 500 students attending the schools. Many children that live far away from the schools come and live with them so that they can attend school while learning skills in agriculture, animal raising, and nursing. Many of their former students have gone on to study at university and have come back to serve with them in their project. Raquel also operates a small medical clinic in the village where there is little other access to good medical care.
When they arrived in Quebo there were few known believers. Since then they have planted three churches. The churches meet in the schools and are led by Guinean pastors that they discipled and trained. They also have a few cell groups that meet in some of the more remote villages around them. Their goal in Guinea Bissau is to continue winning people to Christ through school and social work and to disciple, train, and send them to unreached villages and to neighboring countries to plant more churches.
